Tips for professional- looking designs.
So you're new to the world of graphic design. Maybe you think your designs look like a cat regurgitated on them, maybe you really like them, but still believe you can improve. So you're here, and you're in the right place. Here are 3 tips for creating your very best work:
#1: Colors, Colors, Colors!

Always try to use colors that work well together, it shows that you know what you're doing. When you use gradients, don't make them with complementary colors, you'll end up with an ugly brown line in the middle. Instead, when you make a gradient, use an analogous combination, you'll have a much nicer result. Colors can be your greatest friend or greatest enemy, depending on how you use them, so do so wisely.

#2: White Space

What is white space, you ask? White space is extra blank space on the screen that isn't occupied by the design. A design that takes up the whole screen can look poorly thought out, it just doesn't catch the attention of viewers. (Or it catches the wrong kind of attention, you wouldn't want that either.)

#3: Fonts

Don't forget to choose fonts that go well with your design! Some suggestions for fonts in a flat themed design: Montserrat, Raleway, Open Sans, Lato, Sofia Pro, and Corbert. These, of course, are just suggestions, if you find a font you like better, go ahead and use it, but remember that Comic Sans is a pet peeve of many designers, and you might get hate on the font choice if you use it.
